During the summer of 2010, I worked as a physics intern a half-mile underground in the Soudan Underground Laboratory. My internship is wrapping up now, so I will shortly have some of my projects available here.

Video
I created various videos for the Soudan Underground Lab, featuring such subjects as interesting visitors with ties to the lab, geologists visiting, animating older neutrino documents, and, famously, chronicling my pathetic capture of a small brown bat.
A group of geologists came to visit in Mid-July, bringing with them loads of observations
The Home Science Kits
We have a lot of kids coming to tour the lab, so it made sense to prepare some sort of package they could take home with them to explore science further. I designed the kids, while Bonnie Anderson compiled the information from a variety of sources.
Match that Smell
Linda Buck won a Nobel Prize for her work with aromas. Conduct your own smell-matching.

Bernoulli's Principle
Cause a balloon to magically float by using a hair dryer. Fun for all! Also, learn about the great physicist Daniel Bernoulli.

A Smoggy Day
Study the effects of smog on weather like Mario Molina. Take data from various weather forecasts and figure out how bad the smog will be.

Magnify and Observe
Orest Khvolson pioneered gravitational lensing, which led to some of the experiments going on within the Soudan mine.
